Check EligibilitySolar Panel Grants in Hastings — FAQs
What solar panel grants are available in Hastings?
Households in Hastings may be able to use ECO4, an obligation on larger energy suppliers that runs until 31 December 2026 for households on qualifying benefits, and the Smart Export Guarantee, paid by electricity suppliers for power you export. In England, Warm Homes: Local Grant, run by councils, can also fund solar panels; it replaced the closed Home Upgrade Grant. A free eligibility check shows which may apply to your home.
Do I qualify for the ECO4 scheme in Hastings?
ECO4 in Hastings usually needs someone in the household to claim a qualifying benefit, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Child Benefit, and an owner-occupied home rated EPC D to G (E to G if privately rented). Some councils also run LA Flex routes that widen eligibility to lower-income households not on benefits. ECO4 runs until 31 December 2026.
Can I get free solar panels in Hastings?
Possibly. Under ECO4, which runs until 31 December 2026, eligible Hastings households can have solar fitted with no upfront cost where solar is the right measure for the property. In England, Warm Homes: Local Grant, run by councils, can also fund solar panels for eligible homes. Use the free eligibility checker to see which may apply.
How much can solar panels save households in Hastings?
It depends on how much of the solar electricity is used in the home and on the export rate. For the Smart Export Guarantee, the better fixed rates are around 12–13p per kWh (indicative, October 2026). Where a scheme pays for the system, there is no install cost to recover.
