About Solar Power UK Grants
An independent guide to UK government funding for solar panels. This site is not the government and not an installer: it explains the schemes and checks eligibility. We reply by email; we do not pass your details to an installer.
Our Mission
Solar Power UK Grants exists to explain, in plain English, which UK solar grants and funding routes are real, who qualifies and how to apply. It is an independent online guide: not an installer, not a scheme administrator and not a government body. We reply by email. We do not pass your details to installers.
How this site works
Solar Power UK Grants is an independent guide, not an installer. It has no engineers, no installation team and no customers of its own.
1. Plain-English guides
Each scheme page explains who qualifies, what is funded and what the catches are, using the scheme operators' own rules rather than sales copy.
2. Free eligibility check
The checker matches your postcode, tenure, benefits and EPC band against the current national and devolved schemes. There is no fee and no obligation, and no page on this site promises approval.
3. We reply by email
We reply by email with the schemes that match your answers and who runs each one. We do not pass your details to an installer. If you go ahead, the scheme or the installer you choose surveys the property under its own contract with you.
Registers to check an installer against
This site holds no installer accreditation because it is not an installer. Before you sign with any solar company, check that it appears on these registers.
MCS register
Grant-funded and Smart Export Guarantee-eligible solar PV must be installed by an MCS-certified company. Search the installer at mcscertified.com.
RECC
The Renewable Energy Consumer Code covers deposits, contracts and complaints for renewable installers. Check current membership at recc.org.uk.
TrustMark
ECO4 and Great British Insulation Scheme work must be carried out by a TrustMark-registered business. Search at trustmark.org.uk.
